The campaign for justice
The British Government has stonewalled us for 7 years with enquiry after enquiry, delay after delay and still nobody has received a penny in compensation.
The European Parliament has called on the British Government to compensate the 1.5 million victims of this scandal, yet the Treasury refuses to even discuss it.
The Treasury hid behind the delays to the publication of the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s report into Equitable Life, having itself caused most of those delays in the first place. And now it is playing for yet more delay.
EMAG is mounting a national campaign to ensure that the UK Government finally honours its moral obligation to put right the wrongs done to us by successive incompetent regulators – the GAD, The Treasury, the DTI and the FSA. The Parliamentary Ombudsman has found massive maladministration by Government departments. And we expect Gordon Brown to fight tooth and nail to avoid paying out a penny in compensation.
